reporter katie marzullo has the latest. ought shooting happened at 11:30 but they are in the early hours of the investigation which is happening here behind us the i was able to get the detective sergeant on the scene to confirm one bit of information at this hour which is that they are looking into the possibility, investigating the possibility that the shoot that happened is connected to shooting victims in another city this morning. a lost moving parts. there were reports of gunshots at 11:30 on 1500 block of lodi avenue. officers found evidence of a shooting including a 24-year-old man who was shot now at the hospital. he is expected to live and to be okay. he did live here on this block and that no one else at this location was hurt. as if whoever fired the gun, the detective sergeant said this. >> we have potential investigative leads at this point so i request not say if there are suspects but i can say that we are not, we do not fear there is any risk to other people at this time. >> police have the 1500 block of lodi closed off and will for several hours. they will be here

been detained after a man is stabbed near at&t park after the giants and dodgers game. we have learned two people with the victim were dressed in dodgers apparel. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is at the police station at the hall of justice. >> we are told the victims were the father and brother in dodgers clothes, hat, shirt, a blue wig and they say the victim wasn't wearing codgers gear but this involved a comment about the dodger clothing. we have video of the area where this happened and video from third and perry under that interstate 80 approach where police say it happened. they say something was said about the dom -- dodger apparel and there was a fight. police will not say whether this was rivalry-related problem but it is under investigation. the dodgers and the giants played last night here in san francisco and the giants won the game. they say they do have a man in custody and they have questioned several people but they have a man who has blood on his shirt. no arrests have been made. this is still under investigation and i asked if he is a san francisco reside

killed in a crash this morning. it happened at 1st street just two blocks from foes -- san jose >> the roads have opened up in the past hour or so as police are investigating this. they are trying to find a man wanted for the fail hit-and-run crash that killed two women. san jose police have the car. they do not have the driver. this silver mercedes was towed at 9:20 this morning. six hours earlier it slam into this toyota as the women tried to turn on to the drive. >> he was doing cpr on an individual and the ambulance pulled away with sirens off. so i don't know if he made it or not. >> the female driver died at the hop. firefighters pulled and pried at the toyota to get to the passenger trapped inside. she died at the scene. the dry of the more said ran off before the officers arrived and the traffic investigation unit determined the driver of the mercedes is a man although our research reveals the car is registered to a woman. >> it is a tragic event. we are investigating this and trying to determine who the suspect is. he is dangerous. we want to capture him. >> he is describe --

>> abc7 news starts now with breaking news. >> good morning at 5:00 a.m. the breaking news is from berkeley where authorities say one person has been killed in an apartment fire not too far away from the cal campus. abc7 news reporter is near the scene at oregon street at telegraph avenue. amy? >> the fire was coming from the top of the building and you can see it has destroyed the building where the firefighters saw flames shooting from the windows. they forced entry to try to get to the man on the top floor but we are told he didn't make it and he passed away. residents say they got out okay. eight or nine people live in the building and there are few units inside the building. a woman woke up to screaming. she did not realize her building was on fire. there were police officers and residents running around trying to make sure everyones with awake and able to escape. our neighborhoods were awake with their dog trying to get us to get out and i ran downstairs and banged on everyone's door to make sure the people downstairs knew it was happening and to get out. >> this happened at

reporter amy hollyfield is at 18th avenue. >> 2 1/2-year-old child and the child's father died in the fire. four people were here at the home on 18th when the fire broke ought at 1:30. the father-in-law is in very critical condition and firefighters say the mother escaped okay. they don't know how she managed to get out and they have not been able to talk to her. firefighters say it started in the basement and are trying to figure out why it turned so deadly. >> the house was constructed very well for weather but it keeps all the ventilation -- in the old buildings the windows might pop. >> they got the call at 1:30 this morning and firefighters say they had a tough time getting into the home. there was a metal gate in front of the door so they had to saw a hole into the garage door to get in but once they were inside it took only a half hour to put the fire out. they do not know if the family had working smoke detectors or the cause of the fire. no firefighters were hurt. >> a fire near candelstick park tied up the crews. video captured by abc7 news shows debris burning in the ba
